Head Start families enjoyed a brighter holiday season this year thanks to gift donations from local organizations. The Vermont Country Store, the Maple Street School, and the Church Insurance Company of Vermont all made contributions that benefited families in need who receive services from Bennington County Head Start.
“The holiday season is a hard time for many due to financial burden, but organizations like these make a real positive difference due to their significant generosity,” said Family & Community Partnership Manager Shannon VanderWoude. “During the holidays we feel the heartwarming support of a caring community with donations from these great community minded partners.”
The Maple Street School donated nine Thanksgiving baskets to help provide adequate meals for local families. The Vermont Country Store contributed and wrapped gifts for five Head Start families, and the Church Insurance Company of Vermont donated gifts for three additional families.
