Bennington County Head Start held a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new playground on Monday, August 1, 2016. The Head Start Program currently has 80 students enrolled in the program.
“We are extremely pleased with the Head Start Playground and are grateful for the stae and federal funding support and the hard work from our neighbors, staff and parent volunteers who helped make this happen” said Betsy Rathbun-Gunn, Early Childhood Services Director for UCS.
Head Start provides children ages 3 to 5 with early education classes promoting school readiness and opportunities to strengthen families in Bennington County. Head Start is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and is recognized as a 5-STARS program for high quality early childhood education by the Vermont Agency of Human Services.
