UCS Developmental Services to host annual Holiday Craft Fair December 5 at Grace Christian School

Community News, Latest News

United Counseling Service (UCS)’s Developmental Services division looks forward to hosting its annual Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, December 5, from 10am-3pm, inside the gymnasium at Grace Christian School in Bennington, VT. All proceeds will support the Community Supports Program, which helps individuals with developmental disabilities pursue their interests, build relationships, and participate in meaningful activities in their communities.

Local crafters and artists are invited to participate for a $25 vendor fee. Please contact Roxy at RIskowitz@ucsvt.org to sign up.

Last year’s Holiday Craft Fair welcomed over 30 community vendors selling handcrafted wreaths, towel sets, mittens, quilted animal portraits, gourd lamps, and other wares. The event raised over $700 for Community Supports, which offers opportunities for clients, including men’s and women’s groups, scavenger hunts to encourage community exploration, Garden Club, Art Class, and other activities based on client interest.

“Everyone deserves opportunities to connect with others, explore their interests, and feel a sense of belonging in their community,” said Anne Bilodeau, Interim Chief Administrative Officer of UCS. “Our Community Supports Program helps make those experiences possible for individuals with developmental disabilities, and this event is a wonderful way for our community to come together in support of that work. We’re grateful to the vendors, shoppers, and everyone who helps make this annual tradition a success.”

UCS invites the community to join in the annual Holiday Craft Fair to kick off the winter season! To learn more about UCS and its programs and services in Bennington County, please visit ucsvt.org.
