September 24, 2025 Barn Sale raises over $90,000 for UCS programs in the Northshire Latest News The annual Barn Sale fundraiser for United Counseling Service (UCS) raised over $90,000 to support their Manchester area services! On September 13 and 14 at Riley Rink in Manchester, VT, funds were raised to support the agency’s programs in the Northshire region, which include outpatient mental health, school-based counseling and behavior intervention, substance use, and children, youth and family services. UCS thanks the Barn Sale Committee for its tireless dedication to organizing this special occasion, which celebrates over $1 million raised during the 16 years of hosting the event. “The dedication and generosity of the Committee have been a shining example of what it means to serve others,” said Lorna Mattern, CEO of UCS. “The funds raised by the Barn Sale Committee have brought vital support to the Northshire, but even more importantly, have touched lives, offered hope, and strengthened our community in lasting ways.” Shoppers enjoyed a weekend at Riley Rink hunting for antiques and collectibles, clothing, furniture, kitchenware, home goods, and jewelry, all to support much needed mental health and support services in the Northshire. UCS’ Teens4Change (T4C) held a bake sale during the Barn Sale on Saturday to benefit their program, which provides local teens with opportunities to gather weekly, plan and participate in community events, and volunteer with local organizations. Each year, T4C hosts the annual UCS Bennington Youth Summit, open to all Vermont teens.
