Director of Children, Youth and Family Services Robert Wubbenhorst Bob joined UCS in 2019 as the School-Based Services Manager, bringing more than two decades of experience in the delivery of mental health services. He now serves as Director of the Children, Youth and Family Services division. Bob holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Counselor Education and Supervision from Union Institute and University. In addition to his clinical work, Bob has over ten years of experience in higher education, where he served as a graduate professor in mental health counseling, internship coordinator, and executive leader. Across his career, he has provided individual and group counseling in both private practice and community mental health settings, with a specialization in short-term psychotherapy, particularly Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and clinical hypnotherapy. Bob’s professional experience spans diverse populations, including veterans, American Indian communities, law enforcement personnel, and individuals involved in the criminal justice system. He is credentialed as a National Certified Counselor (NCC), an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), and a Vermont Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). Currently, Bob focuses on training, supervision, and program development. He has delivered professional presentations on topics such as veteran mental health, culturally responsive care with American Indian populations, criminal psychology, crisis counseling, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. He is also a contributing author to a publication for counseling professionals.
