March 19, 2025 Opportunities for shared living providers at UCS Latest News United Counseling Service (UCS) offers opportunities for individuals to open their hearts and homes to clients of its developmental services division through a shared living program. Individuals, families and couples living in Bennington County or neighboring towns in Massachusetts and New York are welcome to apply. The role of a shared living provider is to support someone with a developmental disability on a 24/7 basis, from the provider’s own home. There is no requirement for the provider to be retired, a homeowner, in a partnership or married, or at any particular income level. If there is an interest in helping others live fulfilling lives in a work from home role, this opportunity could be a great fit. Shared living providers earn a monthly tax-free stipend, plus room and board payments from each individual living with them. UCS provides support to shared living providers, including case management for the client, respite, and access to client day programs, such as the agency’s Community Supports and Employment Connections programs. Those interested in learning more about becoming a shared living provider can call 802-445-7318. Click here for current shared living needs.
