United Counseling Service (UCS) welcomes Kelly Kervan to the agency as Chief Financial Officer, a position previously held by Jill Doyle who retired from the agency after 35 years. He will lead the agency in financial planning for its four corporations that include United Counseling Service and United Children’s Services, which administers Head Start and Early Head Start of Bennington County.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kelly to UCS,” said Chief Executive Officer Lorna Mattern. “He brings a strong combination of financial expertise, strategic insight and a deep appreciation for our mission-driven work. Kelly’s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring our financial sustainability and supporting the vital work our teams do every day.”

Kelly brings over 25 years of experience in financial leadership roles to UCS, most recently retiring from Williams College in August. At Williams, he served as Controller and Director of Financial Planning and Treasury Management, among other roles, as well as Controller at WCW Inc. and Assistant Controller at H. Greenberg and Son. His work at Williams involved building many high-profile structures on campus, such as science centers and athletic fields, and securing the $1 billion in funding required to complete those projects. “My career at Williams focused on stewarding funds and helping deliver resources back to the students. It also included working with some of the best faculty in the world.”

Kelly earned a Master of Business Administration from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance) from North Adams State College. He was a guest speaker at the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and the Treasury Institute and serves as Treasurer of the Williamstown Faculty Club and member of the Sacred Heart/St. Francis Budget & Investment Committee.

“I’m looking forward to working at a place that impacts the community so much, which is close to my family and my son,” says Kelly. “The team here is fantastic.”
