Bennington, Vt. — Acknowledging the importance of youth mentoring, the Bennington community came out in strong support of Big Brothers Big Sisters at the 27th Annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake bowl-a-thon on Saturday, April 5th. The event brought in over $40,000 for the mentoring program of United Counseling Service.
The event was held at Bennington Lanes and is the primary fundraising event in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters. The Bank of Bennington served as title sponsor of the bowl-a-thon and also brought numerous teams to participate and fundraise for the event. Patron sponsors included Carbone Auto Plaza, the Spiral Press Café, and The Vermont Country Store. Media sponsors were The Bennington Banner and EQX.
“On behalf of the kids, we want to thank everyone who came out in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters and once again made this bowl-a-thon a resounding success. We want to give special thanks to all our sponsors, and in particular The Bank of Bennington, for helping us make a difference and supporting youth mentoring in our community,” said UCS Executive Director Ralph Provenza.
Nearly 500 bowlers participated in the event in support of youth mentoring, and hundreds more passed through the door to participate in fun filled festivities. All funds raised go directly to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
