Bob Thompson, Board President of United Counseling Service (UCS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Forest Weyen to its Board of Directors, which oversees the operation of the community mental health and developmental services agency for Bennington County.
“We are pleased with the addition of Forest to our Board. His professional experience, coupled with strong leadership will help UCS to strengthen its community relation endeavors,” said Thompson.
“I know that UCS will benefit greatly from the active involvement and support that Forest will provide, “says Lorna Mattern, UCS Executive Director. “Leaders like Forest will help further our mission of building a stronger community.”
Weyen is the Executive Director of the Bennington Rescue Squad. He has worked for EMS agencies from small volunteer agencies to large urban services, including spending a year assisting with the development of the EMS Service in Doha, Qatar and working for the Kentucky Board of EMS. Forest has a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Masters in Business Administration from West Virginia University and has completed a post graduate administrative fellowship in healthcare administration. Weyen moved to the area four years ago and he loves to ski, ride his Harley and travel.
“I was absolutely honored when approached to be a part of such a great organization. Our EMS providers interact with UCS staff in many ways everyday, but we only see a small part of what UCS does. I do not think that the community really knows the depth and breadth of the services that UCS provides and the value to the community that it adds.” Says Weyen.
