The Bank of Bennington Announced as the Title Sponsor for the 27th Annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters
Bennington, Vt. — The Bank of Bennington was announced today as the title sponsor for the 27th annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake to benefit the Bennington County Big Brothers Big Sisters program. The bowl-a-thon is scheduled for Saturday, April 5th, and is the premier fundraising event to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
“The Bank of Bennington is an outstanding community partner who has consistently supported the great outcomes of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program,” said Director of Community Relations Michael Veitch. “We’re honored to have such a well-respected local organization as a title sponsor for Bowl for Kids’ Sake, and we thank President Brown for his exceptional generosity.”
For 27 consecutive years the Bowl for Kids’ Sake has been the primary fundraising mechanism for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and supports the matches between “littles” and “bigs.” The littles, who are school-aged children, are paired with adult mentors to provide a positive role model to help in their development. It is widely recognized that one of the key predictors of high school success rests on if the young person has a role model to look up to, one of the main goals of the mentoring program.
“Bowl for Kids’ Sake is an exciting and fun event for the Bennington community and we’re proud to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters program,” said The Bank of Bennington President James Brown. “As a title sponsor we’re hoping to raise awareness of the importance that positive mentoring plays in the development of our young people, so that they can be productive members of our community in the future.
There are over 750 bowlers at the annual event, with roughly 1,000 residents visiting Bennington Lanes throughout the course of the day.
