UCS Presents Beyond Silence
United Counseling Service is hosting a screening of the documentary Beyond Silence at the Oldcastle Theatre on Wednesday, November 8th at 6pm.
The film introduces three individuals who share one common experience- their lives have been transformed by speaking up for mental health. It provides a glimpse into their lives and their diagnosis – which include bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression and anxiety – weaving together a story about how speaking up is key to living well. Beyond Silence celebrates the strength, perseverance and dedication of these courageous individuals determined to break through the silence often associated with mental illness and to help others along the way.
We hope this film and the discussion to follow sheds light on the common experiences that many individuals with mental illness share.
The event is free and open to the public. This is first of many films in our series UCS Presents Film Festival. For more information call 802-442-5491 ext 281.
