United Counseling Service’s Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bennington County has been awarded an $11,700 grant from Mobius, Vermont’s Mentoring Partnership. Big Brothers Big Sisters helps children achieve success in school, helps them avoid risky behaviors, and helps them improve their self-confidence.
Mobius believes that every young person in Vermont who wants a mentor should have that opportunity, from their early school years until they successfully enter adulthood. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bennington County offers a direct service mentoring program and hopes to turn this vision into a reality.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bennington County is so thankful to Mobius for their continued support of our program. With their assistance we will be able to continue to match children with caring adult mentors, provide support for those matches and offer monthly programming opportunities, “ said Betsy Rathbun-Gunn, Early Childhood Services Division Director.
